Play For All is a small group of parents and educators working to raise money with a goal of building a playground at Dalton Elementary that is accessible to all children. Play For All is committed to ensuring every child has the opportunity to interact freely with their peers. Currently, the playground does not meet the needs of students with physical, visual, or cognitive disabilities, thus limiting social engagement, and we are hoping to change that with an inclusive playground. This would be the first playground of its kind in our area, and would be beneficial to all residents who visit the playground. The new playground equipment will include completely resurfacing the area, as well as equipment that is wheelchair accessible. This is a huge undertaking, but will be well worth it for all of our children. As of July 2024, Play for All has raised $200,000, working towards a goal of $900,000 to fund the entire project. To donate, please make checks payable to Dalton Local Schools with the memo “Playground.” Checks can be mailed or dropped off at the Board Office during normal hours.
